Kiwisaver : New Deductions or changes to existing contributions
Overview
KiwiSaver is a voluntary savings scheme set up by the government to help New Zealanders to save for their retirement. Employees can choose to contribute 3%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10% of their gross (before tax) wage or salary to our KiwiSaver account.
Anyone can join KiwiSaver if they are : a New Zealand citizen, or entitled to live in New Zealand indefinitely, and. living or normally living in New Zealand (with some exceptions).
The employer has to contribute as well – at least 3% of the employees gross salary if the employee is a member of KiwiSaver and aged between 18 and 65 years.

Client Responsibilities
The Client will advise details of employees wanting to join KiwiSaver or change their KiwiSaver contributions though one of the three methods below:
- Direct Access: This instruction will be entered through Admin Direct Access, Employee Modification screen and will include
- Employee Id
- Employee Name
- Effective pay period date
- Percentage to be deducted
- Any special instructions
- Excel: A single Excel spreadsheet summarising all employee changes may be submitted for the payroll period.
- Email: A single email detailing all employee changes for the payroll period.
Please check the payroll report to ensure the change was made as you expected.
EasiPay Responsibilities
Datacom will action changes to employee's KiwiSaver set up as per the client's request.
- Changes will apply to a complete pay period.
- Employer contributions will be loaded as the standard amount unless advised otherwise.
