STP TFN Declared by field
With Single Touch Payroll (STP) now being the standard in which payroll, tax and superannuation data is sent to the ATO, there will be two mandatory fields in the DataPay application for the purpose of electronic transmission of the TFN Declaration Form through STP reporting. This will eliminate the need for employers to send through paper based TFN Declaration forms or complete via the manager access.
The fields are STP Declared By and TFN declaration date. Both these fields will become mandatory for all employees on Single Touch Payroll.
How it works:
When the STP Declared By field is selected, it allows users to choose from three options below;
- Declared By Employee - When the TFN has been declared by the employee, either for new employees or changes in TFN details. The TFN declaration date field must have a relevant date.
(This will be the most common answer for employees). - Declared By Employer -Â When the TFN has been declared by the employer on behalf of the employee, either for new employees or changes in TFN details. The TFN declaration date field must have a relevant date.
(This is used in situations where the employee is unable to provide declaration themselves due to a disability, impairment or some other extenuating circumstance) - Not Declared – Only applicable when TFN has not been declared through a DataPay Application as previously the TFN Declaration Form had been submitted through paper base, manager access or non-DataPay Payroll Solution.
The TFN Declaration Date field will remain unchanged.
