Change an Employees Superannuation Guarantee Contribution Rate/Amount

The superannuation guarantee rate for the 2020-2021 financial year is set at 9.5%, and is subject to change as per ATO advice. This is the default rate set for all Australian employee's in the DataPay system.

However there may be situations where a different rate or specific amount per pay will need to be applied for certain employee(s). 

  • From the employee's profile click on Pay Components > select component SAEC - Superannuation Employer Contribution

Manual Rate

This option will allow you to set a specific rate the SAEC component will calculate each pay period.

  • At the Manual Rate field enter in the value in decimal format > Take note of the effective date > Save

E.g. 11% manual rate = 0.11

Manual Amount

This option will allow you to manually set a specific dollar value the employee will receive each pay period.

  • Update the value for Is Manual Amount from No to Yes > Take note of the effective date > Save
  • Key in the dollar value at Manual Amount > Take note of the effective date > Save
