Create New Employee from ESS

For clients with access to the Employee Self Service (ESS) web portal, users with Administrator access have the option to import employees through the online web portal.

Log into ESS with your administrator account: https://www.datapaylive.com.au/ 

From the dashboard click on New Employees under the Current Pay Run section.

Please Note: If your company has multiple pay groups click on New Employees under the relevant pay group.


Click the New button to begin creating a New Employee. 

The Employee Search on the left will display any draft New Employee forms which are pending to be completed. 

Complete all fields marked with an asterisk * as these are mandatory fields.

Once all the details are completed click the Save button and the details will be sent to the DataPay application. 


Please note: the employee's work pattern and leave entitlements cannot be applied in ESS and will need to be assigned in the DataPay application.
