Change an Employee's Start Date

If you are required to change an employee's start date please be aware this will also impact the employee's leave anniversary date and opening leave balance. 

Below will outline two scenarios and the correct way to action the change in the employee's start date.

Employee without an opening balance

Search for the employee's profile from Employee Tab > Search

Use the calendar drop-down at Start Date to select the new date and Save


The employee's leave anniversary date will also be update to the new start date.

Employee with an opening balance

These employees will most likely be imported into the system with their opening leave balance effective of their employee start date. This will be linked to both the opening balance and anniversary date. 

To change the employee's start date, you will first of all need to take of note of the opening balance and remove it from the Leave Summary Screen.

Employee tab > Search > Leave Type > Select the relevant leave type > Show Adjustments (F2) > Right-Click the adjustment > Delete

You will need to repeat this if the employee has an opening balance for multiple leave types. 


Now update the employee's start date as per the steps above.

Then you will need to re-apply the opening balance to the employee's Leave Summary Screen for an active period of employment.

Use the Effective as at calendar drop-down to change periods.


Key in the opening balance under the Amount column and Save
