Country and STP Income Stream Country

In some circumstances, employers will need to report country of residence and/or STP Income Stream Country.

Country

Business Definition

If payment is made to a payee that has an international residential address then a country code will need to be reported.

DataPay Setup

The country must be selected at the employee level.

Selecting the Postal State 'OTHER' from drop down menu to auto-populate 9999 as the Postal Code, then the country from the drop down list. This will report the the international residential address of the employee on the STP report.

Where an Australian residential address is nominated this will default to Australia and country of residence will not displayed or reported on STP reports.

STP Income Stream Country

Business Definition

You must report an STP Income Stream Country code when you make payments to employees with the following income types:

  • foreign employment income (FEI)

  • inbound assignees to Australia (IAA)

  • working holiday maker (WHM).

Employers will need to report STP Income Stream Country codes about the:

  • home country of employees who are inbound assignees or working holiday makers

  • host country of the employees who are Australian residents working overseas.

DataPay Setup

The STP Income Stream Country must be selected at the employee level.

By selecting one of the following STP income stream types:

  • Foreign employment income (FEI) - host country where the payee is working

  • Inbound assignees to Australia (IAA) - home country of foreign entity paying the payee

  • Working holiday maker (WHM) income types - home country of the payee

The STP income stream country then becomes mandatory.
