Understand the Role Datacom Plays in STP Lodgements

Datacom will be acting as both the Digital Service Provider (DSP) and Sending Service Provider (SSP) for our clients. DSP refers to that we will be creating compliant data, and SSP refers to that we will be creating conforming data for sending to the ATO for our clients.

Datacom has registered as an SSP with ATO, which allows us to send STP lodgements for our clients to ATO using our ABN / AUSkey.

Datacom will be providing the following service models:

  • Employer Sending Service Provider (ESSP) - where the employer (or authorised employee) use our payroll products to process pay and lodge STP data to ATO directly themselves. For example DataPay clients using EasiPay Australia.
  • Registered Agent Sending Service Provider (RASSP) - where the employer has outsourced their payroll to a third party (must be a registered agent) who processes pay and lodges STP data to ATO on behalf of their client. For example, EasiPay Consultants who process and lodge for their clients.

Note: Please do let us know if you are operating in a different model. For example if you are part of an economic group, where one entity processes and reports data to ATO for all the other entities in the economic group.
