Datacom Payroll Press - June 2022 Issue

Welcome to our latest newsletter, the second this year, where we bring you all you need to know about Payroll in New Zealand.

In this edition we introduce you to Datapay Learning, some fresh faces at Datacom and a new product integration.

DataPay Learning

DataPay Learning offers standard and tailored training for our inhouse (DataPay) and outsourced (EasiPay) clients.

  • DataPay - Foundations, Advanced and Report Writing

  • Easipay – Report Writing and System Navigation

The Report Writer module is valuable not only for payroll, but also finance and/ or People and Culture team members who have access to view employee and payrun data.

Our training sessions generally run for a full day each, at either your workplace or our Auckland office. We also offer an online option where the learning is split over two days. This works well for geographically spread teams or where a full day out is not practical.

Costs are $1,125.00 plus GST for each day, plus any associated travel costs outside of Auckland.

We are now taking bookings for August to October 2022. Please contact our DataPay Learning Managers at training@datacom.co.nz for more information or to book your place.

Introducing Bamboo HR - New HRIS integration now available

Bamboo HR is a global HRIS system with a significant footprint in the NZ market. It provides customers with a comprehensive HRIS offering across People, Culture, Hiring, On-Boarding and Compensation.

Datacom has partnered with BambooHR (via Business Toolbox) to create a seamless integration between HRIS and Payroll for our mutual customers.

Key points are:

  • The API based connector helps automated replication of payroll data from the HRIS system, to enable downstream payroll processing in DataPay.

  • The connector automates transfer of payroll related data covering employee details, job details, leave, compensation, Kiwisaver and cost centres.

  • The solution enables automation, efficiency and accuracy. The result is time and cost savings and enhanced risk mitigation for both the HR and payroll functions in the organisation.

Our clients who use Bamboo HR as their HRIS, plus DataPay for payroll, have already started seeing the benefits in our offering.

Interested in building the bridge across your HR and payroll functions? Please reach out to your usual contact at Datacom Payroll.

Datacom payroll leadership update

Richard Kenyon has recently joined us as Associate Director of Operations & Engineering, which covers our client facing DataPay and EasiPay services as well as software engineering. He has been leading product teams for over 20 years across both hardware and software and has a wealth of experience throughout the product development life cycle. His focus with us will be on process improvement and enhancing the service we’re able to provide to our customers.

Ella Obreja joined us last year as Associate Director of Product and again has 20+ years experience growing products in NZ, Australia and Europe. She’s played vital roles in helping launch products for some key industries/companies and has a passion for building products that are human centered.

Together, Richard and Ella are already transforming our approach to product design and how we provide our services to customers. They will both be playing key roles within Datacom PaySystems as we move forward into an era of customer focussed product design and development.
