Types of Pay Runs

There is no limitation to the number of pay packets that can be included in a pay run or the pay period the pay packets are assigned to, even if their pay period doesn’t match that of the pay run.
All pay packets created for a pay run, without a pay period specified, will default to the pay period for the pay run.
Main
The standard pay run.
Only one can exist per pay period.
When created, all employees set to automatically generate a pay packet every pay run will have a main pay packet created. These pay packets will be assigned to the pay period for the main pay run.
Manual
Better known as off-cycle or one off pay run.
No limit of the number that can be created.
When created, no pay packets will auto generate.
Generally created for termination or bonus pay runs.
