Overview
There may be occasions when a new type of leave is required for the company. This will typically be a non-legislative leave type that is unique to your company.
For example, you may want to set up Long Service Leave as per the rules you have set out in your employee contracts.
Client Responsibilities
Client to supply:
- Leave type name
- Rate to pay the leave
- Units to pay the leave
- Are they eligible to cash this leave? (applicable if its a leave that carries balance)
- Is it payable on Termination? (applicable if its a leave that carries balance)
- Can this leave be applied online?
- If leave carries a balance, can everyone view balances or just manager view on direct access (ESS)
- Anniversary Based / Or they get given leave given on an adhoc basis eg Lieu (Earn Take Irregular) / or they can take the leave but company does not need to track the balances eg Jury Leave (Take)
- If Anniversary Based
- Employee Anniversary or Company Anniversary
- Provide entitlement amounts and when entitlements are given (annually, after so many years at varying steps etc…)
- Is there a maximum entitlement (Use it or lose it)?
- List of employees who are entitled to this new leave type
- Opening balances to import
Datacom responsibilities
- Create New Leave Type (Company / Leave Types)
- Set Pay Rate Option (Company / Component Setup)
- Set Leave Entitlement Units (Company / Component Setup)
- If Anniversary Based and for only a select group of employees
- Create Employee Group
- Assign Entitlement and Liability Components to Employee Group / Pay Components
- Add rule template based on when entitlements are to be granted and max accrual based on the client's request. And set based on Employee Anniversary or Company Anniversary
(If leave is for all employees in the company or pay group – then the component assignments and rule templates could be added to either the Company or Pay Group level)
- Assign employees to Rule Template
- Load leave balances if required
- Check DA leave balances permissions
- If Earn Take Irr – set Earned components up on Direct Access Timesheet or add to Excel timesheet template.

Charged at $150 per hour
