Correcting Account Lockout Issues

In some situations a user account may get stuck repeatedly locking shortly after each time the account is unlocked, in what feels like an endless loop. This typically the result of a user accessing DataPay on two or more computers (perhaps a work and personal computer) and updating their password. The computer used to update the password has no issue, but the other computer may have an active session in the background which still has the old password.

Resetting the password or unlocking the account will not solve the issue as the second computer will still be trying to access our login servers with an old password and will lock the account.

The solution to this issue is to restart all machines at the same time that had been used by the user to log in to DataPay. Doing so will close any sessions and the account can be unlocked and the user should be able to log in without issue.

Unfortunately this is not something that Datacom can prevent as it is a normal risk when running software on two machines at one time.
